Starlet — Terms, Conditions, Privacy & Content Licence

Effective date: 18 September 2026

Website: starlet.felix.ink

These Terms, Conditions, Privacy Information & Content Licence ("Terms") explain how Starlet ("Starlet", "we", "us", or "our") operates, how information is handled, and the conditions that apply when you use the Starlet website.

By using Starlet, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.

1. About Starlet

Starlet is an opportunities finder.

The website is intended to help people discover competitions, programmes, projects, courses, events, grants, internships, scholarships, creative opportunities, and other opportunities that may be of interest to them.

Some information displayed on Starlet is provided by third parties or submitted by users.

Starlet does not necessarily operate, sponsor, endorse, or have any relationship with the organisations responsible for individual opportunities.

2. Opportunities Are Provided Without Guarantee

Starlet makes reasonable efforts to identify, review, organise, and present useful opportunities.

However, Starlet does not guarantee the quality, accuracy, completeness, availability, legitimacy, safety, suitability, eligibility, or outcome of any opportunity listed on the website.

An opportunity may:

  • contain inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • have changed since it was listed;
  • have closed or expired;
  • change its eligibility requirements;
  • be cancelled or withdrawn;
  • be unsuitable for a particular person;
  • require payment or other commitments;
  • require parental or guardian permission;
  • require travel or participation in person; or
  • be operated by a third party whose actions are outside Starlet's control.

The appearance of an opportunity on Starlet is not an endorsement, recommendation, guarantee, sponsorship, or verification of that opportunity or its operator.

You should independently check an opportunity and its operator before applying, participating, travelling, paying money, sharing information, or otherwise engaging with it.

Use of Starlet and participation in opportunities discovered through Starlet are inherently at your own risk, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

3. Third-Party Websites and Services

Starlet may contain links to websites, forms, organisations, services, or other resources operated by third parties.

When you follow a link or otherwise interact with a third-party service, you are subject to that third party's own terms, privacy policies, eligibility requirements, and rules.

Starlet does not control third-party websites or services and is not responsible for:

  • their content;
  • their security;
  • their availability;
  • their privacy practices;
  • their data handling;
  • their communications;
  • their opportunities; or
  • their actions or omissions.

You should check the relevant third party before providing information or participating in an opportunity.

4. Information We Collect

Starlet is designed to operate with minimal collection of personal information.

We do not require an account, profile, or registration to use the normal Starlet website.

We do not intentionally collect personal information merely because you browse the website.

Starlet does not use:

  • advertising cookies;
  • behavioural tracking cookies;
  • user profiling;
  • advertising identifiers;
  • cross-site tracking; or
  • personalised advertising based on your activity on Starlet.

We also do not intentionally create personal profiles of visitors.

4.1 Basic technical and traffic information

Like almost any website, Starlet and the infrastructure used to operate it may process limited technical information associated with requests to the website.

This may include information such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser or user-agent information;
  • requested URL;
  • referring page;
  • date and time of a request;
  • approximate technical information about the connection; and
  • information required to detect abuse, maintain security, or operate the website.

This information may be handled in server, security, or traffic logs.

We use such information only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and understand basic traffic to the website.

Starlet does not use this information to build advertising profiles or intentionally identify individual visitors.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Starlet does not intentionally use cookies for advertising, behavioural tracking, or user profiling.

The website is designed not to require cookies for ordinary browsing.

Some infrastructure or third-party services used to operate, secure, or deliver the website may use technical mechanisms necessary for their operation. Such mechanisms are controlled by the relevant service provider and may change as those services change.

Where Cloudflare services are used, Cloudflare may process technical information associated with requests to Starlet as part of providing its infrastructure, security, and related services.

Cloudflare states that its Web Analytics service does not use client-side state such as cookies or local storage for its analytics metrics and does not fingerprint individuals for that purpose.

Please do not submit confidential, sensitive, or personal information through Starlet.

6. Cloudflare and Website Infrastructure

Starlet uses third-party infrastructure and service providers, including Cloudflare, to help deliver, secure, and operate the website.

As part of providing these services, Cloudflare may process or transmit information associated with requests made to Starlet.

Cloudflare's privacy information explains that website-related log information can include technical information such as IP addresses and requested URLs.

This means that although Starlet is designed to minimise personal information collection, it would be inaccurate to promise that absolutely no information capable of being considered personal data is ever technically processed.

Please do not submit confidential, sensitive, or personal information to Starlet.

7. Opportunity Submission Form

Starlet may provide a form allowing people to submit information about opportunities.

The submission form is intended for information about opportunities, not information about the person submitting the information.

Do not submit personal information.

Please do not submit:

  • your full name;
  • home address;
  • personal telephone number;
  • personal email address;
  • date of birth;
  • passwords;
  • account credentials;
  • government identification numbers;
  • financial information;
  • precise location information;
  • health information;
  • private communications;
  • photographs or information that identify a private individual;
  • information about another identifiable person; or
  • other information that you reasonably expect to remain private.

If you accidentally submit personal information, please contact Starlet as soon as reasonably possible.

Starlet cannot guarantee that information accidentally submitted through a public form can be immediately or permanently removed from every technical system through which it may have passed.

8. Licence for Submitted Content

When you submit information, text, descriptions, links, images, files, or other material through a Starlet submission form ("Submitted Content"), you grant Starlet a:

permanent, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence

to use the Submitted Content.

This licence includes the right to:

  • reproduce it;
  • store it;
  • copy it;
  • edit it;
  • modify it;
  • adapt it;
  • translate it;
  • combine it with other material;
  • publish it;
  • display it;
  • distribute it;
  • communicate it to the public;
  • include it in databases;
  • use it in search and discovery features;
  • use it for promotional purposes; and
  • share or communicate it through any medium or technology, whether currently known or developed in the future .

The licence is permanent and does not automatically end if an opportunity is later removed from Starlet.

You should therefore only submit information that you are comfortable allowing Starlet to use and share under this licence.

9. Ownership of Submitted Content

You retain ownership of intellectual property rights that you already own in Submitted Content.

However, by submitting the material, you grant Starlet the licence described above.

By submitting content, you confirm that, to the best of your knowledge:

  1. you have the right to submit it;
  2. submitting it does not knowingly infringe another person's rights;
  3. you have obtained any permission necessary to submit material belonging to another person or organisation;
  4. the submission does not knowingly breach applicable law; and
  5. you have not knowingly included private or sensitive personal information.

Starlet is not required to publish every submission.

Starlet may reject, edit, modify, remove, or decline to publish any submission.

10. Minors and People Under 18

Starlet may be used by people under 18, and some opportunities listed on Starlet may be specifically intended for young people.

People under 18 should think carefully before using Starlet and should consider speaking to a parent, guardian, teacher, or other trusted adult before using the website or acting on an opportunity.

If you are under 18:

  • check the age and eligibility requirements of every opportunity;
  • follow all applicable laws and rules;
  • obtain parental or guardian permission where required;
  • consider discussing opportunities with a parent, guardian, teacher, or another trusted adult;
  • independently check organisations before dealing with them;
  • take appropriate precautions before communicating with unfamiliar people;
  • do not arrange to meet an unfamiliar person alone because of an opportunity;
  • do not send money unless you understand why it is required and are authorised to do so; and
  • do not submit personal information through the Starlet submission form.

You are responsible for following the laws and rules that apply to you.

Starlet does not determine whether a particular opportunity is appropriate, safe, lawful, or suitable for a particular minor.

Parents and guardians should use their own judgement when deciding whether a child should use Starlet or participate in an opportunity discovered through it.

If you are unsure whether you should provide information, contact an appropriate adult and do not submit it until you understand the consequences.

11. How We Use Submitted Information

Information submitted through the opportunity form may be used to:

  • review and organise opportunities;
  • create or update Starlet listings;
  • publish opportunity information;
  • improve the website;
  • categorise or search opportunities;
  • communicate information about opportunities;
  • maintain Starlet's opportunity database; and
  • share information about opportunities through Starlet and other media.

The permanent content licence in Section 8 applies to submitted content.

12. Data Retention

Starlet is designed to minimise the collection and retention of personal information.

We do not intentionally ask users to provide personal information merely to browse Starlet.

Information submitted as part of an opportunity submission may be retained as part of Starlet's content database or associated systems for as long as reasonably necessary for Starlet's operation.

Because submitted opportunity information may be copied, published, cached, backed up, or processed by infrastructure providers, removing information from the public website may not immediately remove every copy from every technical system.

13. Data Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect Starlet and information processed through it.

However, no website, internet transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You should therefore never submit passwords, financial information, confidential information, sensitive personal information, or other information that you would not want exposed.

14. Your Privacy Rights

Where applicable data protection law gives you rights in relation to personal information processed by Starlet, those rights may include rights to:

  • request access to personal information;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion;
  • object to certain processing;
  • request restriction of processing; and
  • make a complaint to a relevant data protection authority.

Because Starlet is designed to avoid collecting personal information, we may have limited information with which to identify or respond to a particular request.

If you believe Starlet holds personal information about you and you would like to ask about it, please contact the Starlet operator through the contact method provided on the website.

15. Children's Privacy

Starlet does not intentionally require children to provide personal information to use the normal website.

The submission form is not intended to collect personal information from children or adults.

Starlet's approach is to minimise personal information collection and avoid unnecessary tracking.

However, children and young people should still take care when using online services. The fact that Starlet does not intentionally request personal information does not mean that third-party websites linked from Starlet have the same approach.

Before following an opportunity to an external website, check that website's privacy policy and terms.

16. Your Responsibility When Following Opportunities

Before participating in an opportunity, you should independently consider:

  • who operates it;
  • whether the opportunity is genuine;
  • whether you are eligible;
  • whether there are costs;
  • what information you will be asked to provide;
  • whether travel is required;
  • whether you need parental or guardian permission;
  • whether the activity is appropriate for your age;
  • what rules apply; and
  • what happens to information you provide to the opportunity operator.

Starlet cannot perform these checks for you in every case.

17. No Professional or Legal Advice

Information provided by Starlet is for general informational purposes.

Nothing on Starlet constitutes legal, financial, medical, educational, professional, safeguarding, or other specialist advice.

You should obtain appropriate advice from a qualified person where necessary.

18. Availability

Starlet is provided on an "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee that:

  • the website will always be available;
  • the website will be uninterrupted;
  • information will always be current;
  • information will always be accurate;
  • every opportunity will remain available;
  • the website will be free from errors; or
  • the website will remain unchanged.

We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of Starlet at any time.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Starlet is provided without warranties or guarantees of any kind, whether express or implied.

This includes warranties relating to:

  • accuracy;
  • completeness;
  • reliability;
  • availability;
  • quality;
  • suitability;
  • fitness for a particular purpose;
  • security;
  • legitimacy of opportunities; and
  • results obtained from using the website.

The inclusion of an opportunity does not mean that Starlet has verified or guarantees it.

You use Starlet and act on information obtained through Starlet at your own risk.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Starlet and its operator will not be responsible for losses, damages, costs, claims, or expenses arising from or connected with:

  • your use of Starlet;
  • your inability to use Starlet;
  • reliance on information displayed on Starlet;
  • participation in an opportunity;
  • the actions or omissions of an opportunity provider;
  • third-party websites or services;
  • information supplied by third parties;
  • inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading information;
  • cancelled or changed opportunities; or
  • information submitted through Starlet.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

21. Prohibited Use

You must not use Starlet to:

  • break the law;
  • infringe another person's rights;
  • submit malicious code or harmful material;
  • impersonate another person or organisation;
  • deliberately submit harmful or deceptive information;
  • attempt unauthorised access to Starlet or its infrastructure;
  • interfere with the operation of the website;
  • collect personal information about other users without an appropriate lawful basis; or
  • use Starlet to facilitate unlawful activity.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The updated version will apply from the date it is published on Starlet, unless otherwise stated.

You should check this page periodically for changes.

Your continued use of Starlet after an updated version has been published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

23. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that part will be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

The remaining provisions will continue to apply.

24. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless applicable mandatory law requires otherwise.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.

25. Contact

If you have a question about these Terms, privacy, a submission, or information published on Starlet, please contact the Starlet operator through the contact method provided on the website.
